The white crappie is considered introduced to Atlantic and Gulf slope drainages of Georgia; it is considered native to the Coosa and Tennessee drainages.

In Georgia, occurs in the Tennessee, Coosa, Tallapoosa, Chattahoochee, Flint, Ocmulgee, Oconee, and Savannah River basins.
